Twelve different families, mothering almost 1000 stud ewes annually, to produce true medium wool sheep.

 

Commercial Sheep Enterprise

Collinsville is run on a commercial basis comprising of 22,000 merino ewes producing 10,000 merino wether lambs

 

Cropping

Collinsville’s cropping program consists of 3,500 hectares. This consists of wheat, barley, oats, canola, peas and lupins.

 

Irrigation

Irrigation program is run at North Booborowie and  is mainly used to background wether lambs coming into the feedlot

 

Feedlot

Expanding operations in agricultural and station areas, and establishing lamb feedlotting for the domestic market

Lamb Guidelines
Effective from 22nd September 2011 to 7th October 2011

  • All animals need to have been vacinated with 6-in-1 at marking and again at weaning.
  • Will accept woolly and shorn lambs.
  • Minimum weight = 35kg
  • Maximum weight = 42kg
  • Premium of 5c/kg paid for Collinsville clients.
  • Imprinted lambs premium of 3c/kg (This requires lambs to have fed grain at least 6 times before weaning with cereal grain within a 3 week period.)
  • All animals to be weighed at Burra and paid on that weight.
  • All animals require a 12 hour curfew before trucking.
  • Accounts payable in 14 days.
  • Commission of $1-00 paid per head as buying commission for all agents.
  • Free freight on 100km radius of Booborowie.
The above guidelines are exactly that, guidelines.  We are fully aware that there needs to be flexibility to allow for an unforeseen difficulties.  Communication is the key.

A grid price is posted every two weeks and freight can be organised by Collinsville.

  • $2.30 per kg for merino wether lambs
  • $2.60 per kg for Xbred wether lambs
