Merino & Poll Merino Stud Collinsville mothers almost 1000 stud ewes annually and all stud records are maintained on its extensive computerised database. The stud also runs 1000 ewes in an annual AI program together with single mating of 2000 elite ewes to top sires. Top sires are also single mated with progeny testing done on young reserves before sale. All ewes are visually classed with the assistance of our computer program, Woolpak, before mating and micron tests further ensure the stud direction of producing true medium wool sheep in the 21 to 22 micron range. This program also maintains the size and fleece cut and enhances the quality of softness and nourishment in the wool.
